I spotted two photos from the latest Gucci Resort show and couldn’t help but wish I lived next to a JoAnn Fabrics.
A square grid shows up in both. Perhaps that’s what I’m into now.
I really like how flannel-y the red/black check fabric looks, the bag is constructed with straps sewn into the side of the bag, and my favorite part is the patchwork, some with letters, and one with dandelions. Where can I get a dandelion patch? Or a patch with some weed plant that no one wants?
The quilted gold jacket with fur is something that might be hard to DIY in a way that’d look good. I’d need padded satin.
If I DIY this, I’d need to make this satin padding myself. There’s no way JoAnn carries this color. It’s almost metallic, as if it could be part of the metal doors that cover a catering truck.
I like how ‘unpretty’ this collection is. There are so many eccentric ideas that show up in this collection demonstrating how fashion serves a different need other than the need to be pretty. Like a head to toe Ron Weasley look. Or playing dress up with an 80’s prom dress.
For the looks I can’t fathom DIY-ing, I’ll just need to wait until I win the Lotto...
